Spot on

Got asked by a female colleague if I had my red roses ready for tomorrow.
I said no, as it's a rip off, and the flowers I bought last week have just come nicely into bloom.
Cue shock and disgust that I wasn't spending ?40 or something ridiculous on roses tomorrow rather than acknowledgement of the fact that I can actually be a little romantic off my own back rather than have to be told to by clintons.

Oh getting 'surprised' on the 1 day of the year your partner can be arsed to be nice to you must be SOOO romantic.

That said it is a day where we like to spend some time together, we are going to get something to eat then going to the cinema. Nothing earth shattering just a bit of quality of time which is, after all, what it should be about not how much money is spent (as many females seem to enjoy bragging about in the office the next day which really hacks me off!).
So to that end I'm knocking the game tomorrow night, its no protest just the result of apathy and having something better to do (if you'll pardon the pun!).
