Ahhhh.....

"Make laws that stop big business profiting at the expense of people and the environment. " Hmmm, that sounds like an end of Capitalism to me, what instead? Communism? Bonoism?

Although I do think that export subsidies are ridiculous and are not congruous with giving aid.

Still don't think that Bono or anyone else understands the whole debt thing, as soon as someone says 'cancel all the debt' they make it clear that they don't understand international economics. Every country needs access to debt, not just rich or poor. If the debt was ever cancelled no-one would ever lend to these countries again, or would charge an exorbitant rate.

I'd also imagine that the IMF and the World Bank are better placed to advise countries how to structure their economies to avoid future debt than a smelly pop star.

I think the last point should be 'better and more aid' rather than the other way around, in so far as, aid needs to be put to better uses before chucking more money at the problem.

A noble plan, but I still think rather misguided.
