The problem with that is......

It doesn't remove the corruption and imposes a "white man's solution" on a "black man's problem".

I don't buy the if a penny in the pound makes it through, it's worth it argument. That 99p is propping up a corrupt regime. Is that worth it?

If this was tied to a method making true democratic and accountable government, then the aid may do some good.

Even improving the terms of trade will prop up corrupt regimes and officials. Where will the money go from the trade?

And it doesn't just apply to African governments. Try this for what happens to white man's aid money. User Posted Link The money came back into the UK. And supplied the rich parts of the city. The contract was finally cancelled earlier this month at much further expense to the Tanzanian government.
