His attitude to sport was very old school

in that he loved the game, not the rivalry.

He had memberships at Lord's and Oval, and he watched football at Dulwich Hamlet, Spurs, Orient and Norwich.

And to think that, at 90+, he would take the train to midweek games at Norwich and use the night-bus to get home after the midnight arrival at Liv St.
