I would try Leathes Prior or Birketts. Good firms in Norwich.
I know lots of them their and know they take on new recruits as trainees every year or so.
In the mean time:
Get some work experience if none already (most important)
Tart up the CV and mention all things he's done where he's been given responsibility. Committees etc.
