It's a huge source of revenue for the government.
It's going nowhere.
I don't object to sportsbook gambling, in fact I don't object to most, but I do not like fixed odds betting terminals and internet gaming. Those are fixed in favour of the bookmakers; they know they'll make c.3p profit for every £ gambled, sportsbook is different, the punter can win if they are smart enough.
