Have seen the same thing repeatedly in radio over the last few years...

and with TV too (particularly the ITV merger).

Too much thought is given to the bottom line that has an adverse effect on quality of out-put. No more so is that more noticeable than with the media.

Management see technological advancement as a reason to reduce workforce, little unstanding that it still takes a workforce to ultimately produce your end product/newspaper/programme etc etc.
