The difference in our case was we'd already achieved it - finished mid-table in fact - playing some really exciting stuff. That meant that we, as a fanbase, never adjusted to his approach, and he never adjusted to ours. But the joke's very much on us: even more so if they seal the title at our place. He's done a brilliant job there, just as he did at Newcastle, and at Birmingham - and he deserves his success.

We haven't replaced him with someone better since; we haven't gone forwards as a football club since. Hopefully the recent changes will mean we finally do; but as things stand, when the rest of football thinks of Norwich City and Chris Hughton, it's not Hughton it blames. It's us.
