Real pisser when that happens
Not a lot you can do. If it's in your head only it's fine to run but if it's on your chest, you know as well as I do that best advice is not to. Once it's off your chest get back out there and find another half within a few weeks - you'll still have your fitness and you'll run much better after the cold.
Gutting when you've trained and have to pull out right close to the event (been there, didn't get the T shirt because I didn't run). Hope you feel better soon mate.
