i use EAC with the lame encoder
it's complicated to set up but once you have it's the best ripper you can get. and lame is the best encoder. unlike some other rippers it will re-check if i can't read something and report any errors. it will also slow down the read speed if it thinks it needs to.
also always encode at 320kbps, it's crazy not to.
