Agree to a point
and I do think that we have a particular problem attracting players but that is all the more reason why this is an area where we need to be particularly organised and well resourced.
Like I said Southampton have a whole 'department' who are looking for targets so that they know who they are going for when they have to sell on a player. We have lurched from one supposed approach to another. With various different heads of recruitment falling by the wayside. I remember that before the window this time last year McNally said that we would see which leagues we are now scouting! Well apart from Klose and Pinto nothing seemed to happened.
Under Hughton (I think) we previously spent a whole summer going for players that were clearly out of our range. We should be looking for lower key players who see Norwich as a step up and with something to prove.
Also agree that it can be difficult to move players on but I'm sure his resigning didn't help. Plus, who gave Lafferty such a stupidly large contract in the first point.
My general point is that many seem to think that McNally was a genius whereas I think, as Norway says, his record is rather mixed.
