However, in hindsight, they probably wish they had announced it now be cause it just adds to the overall negative perception and seriously weakens AN's standing with supporters. He now looks unsackable for financial not football reasons.

And regardless of terms, if this arrangement had been made after a successful season, the club would have used the news to their best advantage.
