I agree the answer isn't to chop and change
But I think the source of the defensive problem is organisation more than personnel, which is why it doesn't matter who we pick.
I don't know enough about the top 6 teams in the league to assess whether the players you note are good enough to get in their team's or not, but they're definitely good enough to form part of an organised Championship defence.
