1GB is more than enough for general browsing, especially if on WiFi all the time at home.

You might even be able to get away with 500MB.

Don't have an iPhone but I'm sure if you google how to check your usage it will be relatively straight forward from your settings.

You can get similar deals to the Sky ones if you're a BT Broadband customer too. I've got 4GB data allowance for £10 per month with BT, although that was a one-off offer with double the usual allowance. Still, 2GB for £10 per month is still good value.

With BT you can also do family deals so if you add a second SIM on the same tariff it knocks £2 off, then £4 off for the next additional SIM etc. Worth it if you've got a few in the family all requiring similar deals.
