I think that's a bit of a myth really.
Just as many, if not more great managers who were also great players.
Look at the current top clubs' managers - Pep, Zidane, Enrique, Conte, Ancelotti. All highly successful players.
And have you seen our coaches? Frankie Mcavoy appears to have no playing career at all of note!
