if i'm right it's essentially a telegraph pole so why were they all running about the highlands in skirts tossing off telegraph poles? was it a weapon and they bunged them at the english or did they not have bridgers so invented portable bridgers to get over the streams or burrrrrrrruns as they call them. maybe telegraph poles grow wild in scotland.
