but the question is why has he ended up having to motivate and organise other people's signings?
Looking at the list further down - McGovern, Pinto, Klose, Dorrans and Brady are all first choice, or at least mostly. Then Mulumbu and Jarvis perhaps would be if they were fit? So perhaps 7 of the first XI?
Who does that leave as 'failures' (or 'surplus to requirements', at least at the moment)?
Most obviously Oliveira, Naismith, Canos, Madison, and Pritchard? Am I missing any (other than players who were signed on loan for the prem)?
Guess when you put it like that it doesn't look so bad - although it misses out the players that he *should* have signed but never did (another CB, another striker etc...)
