Can't stand the instant revisionism of football fans
Sometimes it works out for managers, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes managers have a great initial impact, then something goes wrong and the players tune him out. Sometimes managers are great at one club, a disaster somewhere else. It doesn't mean they're either brilliant or awful, but somewhere in between.
AN was tremendous, exactly what we needed, during the second half of 2014/15. The turnaround was sensational; the manner of promotion, magnificent. We bestrode Wembley like a colossus. But since then, bad recruitment and indecision post-Newcastle last season has left us in an increasing mess. It happens. It's one tough gig, being a top level football manager.
