I know I will be accused of escapegoating but....

Surely it's no coincidence that every defence that includes Martin at centre back is a shambles. I like the guy as a right back but Scotland fans are also slating him and saying the same stuff many of ours are. Poor marking, not tracking runs and losing out in the air consistently cropping up.

Brum aside, Bennett and Klose looked very solid earlier in the season. I really don't get the obsession managers have with getting Martin in there at every opportunity. Even Bassong played well at Everton with Bennett but was then sh*t at Newcastle. Pretty much all of our awful defensive displays have involved either Martin at CB or Whit at RB. they cause too much uncertainty.
