I and Hawes jrjr made a bakewell tart at the weekend. No soggy bottom there.

Tip for those making one: go to the (small) extra trouble of making your own compote, rather than using jam. Just need to simmer some raspberries with a bit of sugar for quarter of an hour. Makes all the difference.

(No icing, btw. And all the better for it.)
