I have....
an MXQ Kodi box which i got off ebay for about £25.
They are a bit of a faff at first as the software loaded on them tends to be out of date, which is why the links are slow/don't work.
I removed Kodi altogether from mine when i got it and then downloaded the newest stable version onto my pc and installed it on the box, via memory stick.
It does mean you have to go and find the sources for the repositories and then install all the relevant add-ons that you want, but it does mean you don't have loads of s**te that you don't need and it gives you a pretty good clue about how to maintain it, if further updates etc break it in the future.
I use mine via ethernet too as it makes the internet more reliable than with wifi.

- KODI is the application not the box. Box quality varies. Do a clean install. (General Chat) - Basingstoke_Canary, Sep 8, 14:53:54
