The boxes are just a different platform for the Kodi app innit?

I guess the boxs may well be better especially if you use an ethernet lead from your router rather that the stick wireless. The stick isn't too good for live sport I have found although some of that is due to the links being busy.

I have also found that the Pulse CCM build works well. A good build will update apps/links regually
