I just don't get the faux-outrage from people who don't understand what a Chairman does
I did post up what that was once, can't be arsed to pantsbot back and find it, but basically his job is
- running the Board, ensuring all Board committees (audit, remuneration, nomination, may be others) are properly staffed and run, ensuring an appraisal process for Board members is in place, ensuring proper access to the executive team for the Board with the help of the Company Secretary, making sure appropriate strategic plans and contingencies are in place, monitoring and evaluating execution of those plans, yada, yada, yada
- some other general governance shizz
- appraising, hiring and firing the CEO
The full version is in User Posted Link if anyone cares.
Not one iota of this is affected by him being on Strictly. Why shouldn't he? If anything on the pitch on a Saturday afternoon is affected by Balls something is badly wrong.
Not everyone loved him as a politician (I didn't), but let's see how he goes as Chairman for a while rather than getting in a lather about something that's completely irrelevant.
