Some belated thoughts on last night

So Coventry weren't great but I thought that we looked far more fluid and cohesive than we normally do in similar cup games. Not too many stray passes and we played with a certain degree of purpose.

In terms of the fringe players...

Canos - OK so he got two goals and an assist but I thought that at times his decision making was poor and he chose the wrong ball. By no means a bad performance overall though.

Andreau - Involved without doing anything spectacular.

Thompson - My MOTM. Read the game well. Broke up play numerous times and played it simple. Would be good to see him against better opposition.

Maddison - Was a little disappointed, but I might have hyped him up a bit in my head. Had a fairly quiet game I thought although set pieces were fairly good as others have said. Good to see him stand up to Laffs who wanted to take a free kick in the 1st half.

Tofollo - At fault twice for the penalty (gave it away then did the foul) but otherwise seemed OK.

Godfrey - Had a certain swagger about him and wanted to take players on. Plus a great finish. Looked promising.

Muphlings - thought they both did well. Lovely turn from Josh to set up his chance where he hit the post.

Mulumbu - came on and charged around. Played a couple of bad passes but looked keen.

Laff - Took his goal well and worked hard. Won lots of flick ons. I think that it is well established that his non-selection is due to other factors than his performance during matches.
