He can play right or left and though middle. He's at his best as a no10 as can go either way and 2 footed when playing central.
So....I reckon the plan will be HE replaces Brady on LM and covers for Wessi in the hole when needed.
Left mid not his best position but in reality as in modern football players switch as a fluid 2/3 players in midfield, he can do this effortlessly.

He would replace wessi as starter before Christmas
