Where defensive backs give up touchdowns because instead of going for a simple wrap-up tackle on a wide receiver they gamble on a spectacular big hit or interception that, if they miss, allows the defender to get away and score. But those highlight reel big hits and interceptions are what get them nationwide name recognition and thus a big contract.
One of the reasons the Patriots have been so successful for over a decade is that they have done a great job of filling their squad with apparent 'no-marks' who, unnoticed by the media, do the unglamorous basic fundamentals of their job exceedingly well. Which makes them no only better, but cheaper, than most of the 'stars'
