I don't think any of the main protagonists have done themselves any favours in that regard

Cameron and Osborne have alienated vast swathes of their own party and were already unpopular with other voters.

I don't think Johnson has come out of this particularly well as he's shown himself to be something of a diplomatic liability.

Give probably comes out the best but if leave lose he will be out of the government.

The ones who will come out of this as realistic contenders for the leadership are probably those who have kept the lowest profile. Look at Teresa May. She has quietly towed the government line in terms of overall position but has aligned herself with the leave campaign on certain issues and has not been vocal or provocative on any of the points. She's played a very smart game if you ask me.

I think Ruth Davidson and Andrea Leadsom have come across very well as well.
