I think we had a clear style - we kept about 10 clean sheets

we were generally well organised, but just had not cutting edge - largely due to signing dud strikers. Discontent from the fans and subsequent pressure from the board didn't help and forced us to deviate somewhat towards the end of the season - but the general plan was still to keep possession and control the game, with players knowing their roles and playing within a fairly strict system.

This season, even when we've tried to go defensive, it's been a a half thought out plan - not really showing enough conviction. Sometimes we've looked to counter, sometimes we've tried to defend, sometimes we've tried a playmaker, sometimes two big men upfront, sometimes three at the back... We have no identity and it's not been the odd surprise tactic like under Lambert, it's been because Neil has no clear plan of how he wants to play.
