i'd be slightly miffed but not surprised at all

if it happened in ten years time i'd be slight to moderately miffed. 5 years reasonably miffed. 2 years miffed. 1 year decidedly miffed.

some of that then in the intervening periods. the geographic location of the journalist wouldn't have any bearing whatsoever on my level of miffed by the way let alone surprisedness.
