More than likely it?s a redundancy exercise
And a chance to get rid of a few people.
In my experience of these all jobs have already been handed out by management before they interview. So do the interview in the knowledge that whatever happens has already been decided, there's probably not a great deal you can do to influence the process or decision.
Good luck with it.
