I was living there until this time last year and have been inundated with messages from friends confirming that they're safe. One guy I know was on the other end of the train that was hit, but he got out down the track to the previous station. It's totally surreal - even though it's been a threat for ages, you're never prepared for the reality. It also makes me see all these attacks through different eyes - I remember seeing the Paris attacks on telly, but it feels so much more real when you recognise the places. I could easily have been on that metro on my way to work when I was living there. It's all so f**ked up. Much love to all of Belgium.
