I'm not assuming that but since the excuse given for Neil's blunders this season

Is that he is inexperienced but "is learning" then the obvious alternative if you were to make a change would be to bring in someone who does not need to learn.

Again i can see both sides of the coin re giving him a chance to learn. Even if we go down we could benefit from it long term if he does indeed learn and sticks around and takes us back up but by the same token he may not learn or he may f**k off at the first sniff of a decent job offer if he has us doing well next season in the championship. Its a gamble and on that we will just have to accept Mcnally's judgment on Neil, his potential and his character.

Its a big gamble though. We may effectively be sacrificing our premier league status so that Neil can learn his trade. Quite an investment.
