Tour to the Fine City

My old club side are coming to town at the end of May and I'm hoping the discerning crowd you are can recommend hotels, pubs, clubs (well, ones that let 40 to 50 year olds in !). We also like an end of tour posh(ish) dinner. Are any of the restaurants at the ground worth a look ?

Also looking for something cultural / interesting around the city that 40 blokes could stagger round for a couple of hours on a Friday or Saturday afternoon.
