Crewe scored 48 goals up to Ashton's departure.
In the same number of games this season we scored a miserly 32 - that's 50 per cent less. Of course Ashton scored less.

Dario Gradi says Ashton was "the best he'd seen him, as a player" this season. You can disagree but your knowledge of football hardly rates alongside his.
