do you think he is significantly faster than Olsson then?

they both seem pretty quick quick to me. I was thinking he plays Brady at left back when he wants to load the central midfield (e.g. when we have Howson nominally playing on the left); Brady then supplies more attacking width than Olsson would. Just think it's a waste though, and often means that Brady isn't in a position to get involved in our attacks.
