I'm glad i was a match going teenager in the 80's...
yeah it was edgy,sometimes dodgy,but that's what you need/want when you're younger,a bit of weekend excitement. I feel sorry for teenagers these days,they either rely on going with their parents 'cos they're the ones paying for the season tickets or they simply can't afford to go. My 14 year old is going to his first match with just his mates today(cup games are now the only opportunity for these types of rights of passage milestones),but I had to suggest it and cajole them all into doing it. I think they find the whole football experience a bit dull,it's just a game of football now,when I was their age there was a lot more to it than just the match.
