I believe, my Lord, that this is what young persons call a "pun"

You see, the second syllable of the place name"Bournemouth" is commonly pronounced "muth", which sounds rather like the word "muff". Since "muff" is itself a vulgar slang term for pudendum mulieris, that makes it an irresistible nickname for the association football club based in that town.
