I would say this about our predicament.

Persisting with Ruddy and RM at centre back, we have probably dropped 5-6 points which would have a transformative effect on both our league position and the confidence of the squad. Not using harry hindsight here, I was calling for both to be dropped last season as the failings were obvious.

That's obviously manager error, but he's allowed a few mistakes. Recalling either is not a forgiveable error. RM led to a lack of confidence again against everton in the back four.

Now, I think we can stay up with all our players fit - need Jarvis pace back in the team in my view, we are a little short of it otherwise. CJ not clinical enough - we have know this for a while. He needs Mkobani to start.

Unfortunately we dropped points against weaker teams. It's touch & go whether we can do it. We will need to luck out massively in January to get something which improves us, so I would think we are going to have to do it with what we have got.

The errors were in the summer - not nailing down 2 new defenders, another fast midfielder and a striker have cost us and put us in the mire. Shame, because we have the nucleus of a good team. The board is at fault here I think. Our manager is good enough.
