As Hughton spunked the biggest transfer budget a Norwich manager has ever had on a large amount of ill fitting dross and mediocrity. ?10M of which is stuck in the championship, another ?10M that can't even get on the bench for Betis. The best signing from that lot is a very inconsistent winger. Olsson is the only other remnant from that and he's just a brainless sprinter with very little positional sense.
Neil may be struggling, while showing some tactical weaknesses (as did Hughton), but at least he can say that he has been left the remains of an aging squad full of dross, without really being able to build his own team (unlike Hughton). He deserves a chance to build his own team.
Neil has also shown that he's capable of setting the team up to play good football against lesser sides and win, which was always a major criticism of Hughton. The difference is that Neil has started to develop a more defensive string to his bow, which led to very few goals conceded against Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal, despite our woefully out of form keeper gifting two goals out of the four conceded. It's obviously still a work in progress, especially getting the balance right, but Hughton never showed that type of flexibility during his time here.
I'm pleased for Hughton right now, as he always came across as a good bloke with his heart in the right place. I've said this before, but I don't think he is a bad manager, he just made a mess of the job in the end and didn't really fit the club's circumstances at the time after the progression made by Lambert (look at Lambert at Villa, "failed" there, but he's not a bad manager). It's never really a good idea to go back to an old manager anyway.
I realise this is a troll thread, but there's a serious answer.
