... You CAN'T coach a player who fundamentally cannot play into being a key member of the team. Andy Hughes, for example, is out of his depth. If somebody has skill but is essentially lazy, or not really a team player, there's something you can do about that. But if somebody is working as hard as he can and still isn't good enough, you're screwed.
Bill Shankly said that constructing a football team is like putting on a piano concert - you need eight people to carry it and three who can play. The trouble is, Worthington has become increasingly obsessed with the carriers, to the point where barely anyone can play. And I suspect it's only going to get worse.
