We put down our old dog today
She was 13 and a half. Her spirit was willing but her back legs had completely gone.
She was the most wonderful dog. She was a puppy when my boys were young and is a massive link with childhood. They all came back from wherever they are this weekend to say goodbye to her. We've all cried buckets and I'm crying now as I write this. It's just ridiculous when you think of all that's going on in the world at the moment to get so upset about a dog but she was so special to us and many others (for years she worked as a therapy dog for children who are scared of dogs because she was so gentle and benign).
I don't know why I'm telling you all this but hey ho, I've done it now. I'm a very sad old git tonight.
