This is the road that Brentford are going down with all their signings.
Evey single situation is different , you've already mentioned a defence that parts like the red sea making it very difficult for keepers.

I've also heard ex player state that they like to know what their keeper is going to do in terms of from my for crosses or not. David James was one of those that came for everything and his defenders knew that.

For what it's worth I think Ruddy isn't the best keeper in the league but is Rudd any better, I have no idea, I have confidence that he could do a good job .

Players are human beings and will make mistakes. If they didn't all games would end 0-0.

I know it's extreme happy clapping but that's me, just a fan.and not a statistician
