I can think of some of the more suspicious / paranoid people on this board who'd start throwing accusations around the minute a pass was misplaced, for example.

And leaving it up to clubs to leave a player out if they were concerned doesn't sound like the right answer to me, either. That way means some clubs would benefit, others suffer, depending on the circumstances. At least the curent rules are consistent.

If, for example, we were playing Liverpool in the last game, and they needed a win for their first title in 25 years or whatever. And we needed a result to stay up. Would we want Wisdom to play? I don't know, but would be messy.
