Sometimes a powerful image can have a big effect on people

It's easy to not care about what you don't see and when it's not directly affecting you

The Tiananmen square picture for instance, brings it home to people that would otherwise perhaps have found it easier to bury their heads in their own problems (myself included)

They do say pictures speak a thousand words
