I don't disagree. I would not want more than 3 or 4 starters coming in but
the nerves flow from the fact that we've only really brought in 2 and one of those is now out for 2 months.
I have faith that the bulk of this squad is good enough to play in the premier league, especially now we have a manager who is at the very least competent. I'm not worried about the defence due to media perceptions of how good the premier league is. I'm nervous about the defence and the lack of quality defensive signings because I thought, watching with my own eyes, that it looked ropey as hell against some championship wingers and attacks last season and I know from watching us in the prem previously that every team has pace going forward and the forwards are clinical.
I hope my nerves are misguided and the players step up. in fairness, Martin and Whitaker certainly had great games at Wembley when they were no doubt fully focused so perhaps the knowledge they are playing against better players and need to concentrate every week will bring the best out of them.
