2 main reasons female cyclists seem to be victims in more RTAs.

1) Less likely to ride assertively. Take the primary line, make clear eye contact with drivers etc.

2) Slower to accelerate away from junctions and also slower cruising speed.
I find being fast off the lights and particularly going round roundabouts keeps me a lot safer.
