Anyone from the relegated teams that

says they are gonna stay and help get their teams back up but are in the last 18 months of their contracts...will be linked

However good Hoolahan has been this year, and he has been excellent at times, we will need a replacement for him going forward. We saw that last time we went up. Not immediately but a successor needs to be found and getting someone in place this summer makes sense. I know that will be controversial, but there, said it.

Dawson has pledged to get Hull back up. He is 31? but good experience, so would be a good shout. He has been mentioned before.

Shane Long would get us some goals. How many goals do we need? Looking at this seasons premier league, 40-45 goals is what we need to be sure of staying up. How many can Cam and Grabban get us? 8-10 each? Howson and Bradley 4-5 each? Similar from Nathan? Whittaker and Martin might chip in. Pessimistically, we will need more goals. Aside from QPR, teams went down because they didn't score. Leicester ultimately stayed up because they learned to score in their last ten games.

If those midfield goalscorers get 6-8 each instead of 4-5 each, it looks much better but another man up top who can get 12-15 makes a big difference. But then, they cost the big bucks...

Its always possible the guys we have will step up and have a great season in the premier league but its unlikely either of them will get 20 goals, so we will still need more goals from elsewhere.

Meant as a discussion point, not meant to be inflammatory...
