Did my postal vote last night but feeling a bit short changed

My local MP is John Bercow. This means that the other major parties don't even put candidates up against him so the choice was Bercow, UKIP or Greens. Bercow himself wasn;t listed as Conervative so i'm not even sure if it counts as a Tory seat?

Also I think i'm correct in saying that the speaker doesn't vote unless there is a tie in the Commons.

All in all, therefore, my vote appears to have f**k all impact on anything. I don;t think its fair on their constituents for any one MP to be speaker for more than a short period of time.
