THe Youth Cup is won (with one rather glaring exception) by the big mega-teams, who with their ability to spend multi-millions on players and pressure to compete each week at the very top level are rarely in a position to give youth a chance.

In fact they view their academies simply as investments. Buy in loads of cheap young talent and then send them out on loan each season so you don't have to pay their wages. If they do well on loan you can then sell them for a decent fee, thereby making a profit which goes towards buying more superstars for the first team while still complying with FFP.
