at least some variants of it are. Best thing you can do is google "Trojan.StartPage " and see how to do it. That one requires a Spyware protection system (rather than just Virus protection) to remove all the entries from Internet Explorer's registry space, delete some files which are always in use and which change name (and therefore may require safe mode), etc. Far too long for me to remember or post here, so google it.

When you find solutions (probably in newsgroups) be careful to check that all the symptoms are the same, as I discovered I had a variant which was particularly nasty (some are easier to remove than others) and never could get rid of it until we updated to a new Norton Antivirus, which seems to have removed the problem now.

Oh, and stop looking at the w**k sites.
